‘of Pork & Potatoes’ is a story of two communities and how they functioned.
One is the community where the author and his sister grew up in a poverty-stricken and troubled home on a prairie farm in Manitoba, Canada. With a father suffering PTSD from his experience in WWII and a narcissistic mother, the two children needed to look to the community for help and support. The second community is the one the author lives in, and its fifteen-year struggle with an illegal hog operation.
The author leads his group in its efforts to protect its rights from an unscrupulous corporation and a complacent government.
