Biography
Danielle Örtegren spent her childhood in Aurora, Colorado, where the majestic Rockies form a stunning backdrop.
From a young age, she found solace and inspiration in the world of books, nurturing a dream of becoming a novelist that followed her into adulthood. While attending the Johns Hopkins M.A. in Writing program, she penned several novels and children’s books.
She worked as a veterinary technician for sixteen years before deciding to pursue writing full-time. In addition to her veterinary technician certification, she holds a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner accreditation from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. (Basically, a dog physical therapist; what a freak.)
She enjoys traveling and has visited twenty European countries alone (her Swedish ancestors would be proud). In her spare time, she volunteers with Back the Blue K-9 Force, a non-profit organization her mother established in 2016.
She’s short for no reason.
