Kate Zarrelli writing for Romaunce Books is the pen name of Katherine Mezzacappa. Kate is Irish but now lives in Carrara in Northern Tuscany, between the Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian Sea, with her Italian husband. She writes historical, erotic, feel-good, and paranormal fiction, set all over Europe, and in her spare time volunteers with a used book charity of which she is a founder member.

Writing as Katie Hutton, her historical novels The Gypsy Bride, The Gypsy’s Daughter, and Annie of Ainsworth’s Mill have been published by Bonnier Zaffre with The Maid of Lindal Hall to follow in August 2023. Writing under her own name, The Virgin of Florence and The Ballad of Mary Kearney will be published in 2024 by Fairlight Books and Addison & Highsmith respectively. She has published numerous short stories worldwide as Katherine Mezzacappa and Katie Hutton.

She is represented by Annette Green Authors’ Agency and is a reviewer for the Historical Novel Society.
