Shane Armstrong lived a simple life until he began to disappear from his bathroom and travel through time. During each trip, he is continually drawn into the dark past of Cadence Conrad, a twisted and dangerous boy he had known as a child.

The more Shane travels, the more information he compiles about Cadence’s life, suggesting Cadence may be the big piece of the puzzle Toronto Police have been trying to solve.

They discover Cadence’s new identity, and the investigation takes Shane and detective Lavinia Harper to Montreal where they continue to pursue the prime suspect police have been seeking in a string of murders perpetrated by The Birthday Killer.
